{A day out} Prom Xtra

robb on segway

Robb | I think this was the first time where upon suggesting we head out for the day, I think you had to think about it…just let me squeeze another Summer out of you before you decide that days heading out with your mates are much better than days out with us.  I think the segways more than made up for it though.   I love you, I love you, I love you.

roller coaster

Alfie | You were too small for the segways, so obviously you were going to drag your big brother on this!  Hands up in the air the whole ride…and that gorgeous smile of yours.  This week you refused point blank to hold my hand, looking at me really daft when I suggested it…and breaking my heart at the same time too.  I love you to Botswana and back too.

I don’t know…can SOMEONE have a word with these bois?!  Make them stop growing…or stop time, or something?!  I’m begging you.

Of course, these nerds had a go too:

…and then Ed Sheeran’s ‘Photograph’ came on and I…I just…OHMAIGODILOVETHISSONG!

Loving can hurt, loving can hurt sometimes
But it’s the only thing that I know
When it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes
It is the only thing that makes us feel alive

  1. Such a beautiful post I can empathise with so well, with 3 teens now our family days out are rarely the whole family. They are all growing too fast and too worried about being seen out with us not their mates, it takes something special a distance from home to drag them out now and I miss those carefree all together simple days. Sounds like you are on the cusp of this too. There is no stopping the natural progression of kids, but atleast we have those happy memories of their younger days forever. Make the most of the days you still have all together, this one looks great fun! Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids

  2. Oh gosh, it’s so bittersweet isn’t it? We have just reached the “don’t kiss me at the school gates” stage and it is a little heartbreaking! Looks like you had such a fun day out x
