…drizzled with a lot of chocolate sauce, obviously.
Peanut butter ice cream is probably my favourite flavoured ice cream {with the Hazelnut one I once had at the White Lion in Bala a VERY close second}…as well as my favourite flavoured cookies, chocolate bar etc. And don’t even get me started on peanut butter smothered on a banana about half hour before a run if I’m feeling I need the boost…any excuse :)
I’ve had a go at making Nutella ice cream this way before today and since then I’ve been meaning to give a different flavour a go. Enter Banana Peanut Butter Ice Cream…
The recipe only asks for two ingredients {bananas and peanut butter} therefore, making it a healthy recipe, but I added an extra one; chocolate chips, therefore making it not so healthy. Enough said. The recipe also says to put the frozen bananas and peanut butter in a blender but my blender didn’t like this. At one point I was physically shaking my blender to try and get it to bloody blend. So yeah, like I said, it didn’t like it. But it was easily rectified by using my regular hand mixer to blend it all together.
The result? Without stating the obvious as it was made out of banana, but it was a bit too banana-y {i know! i know!}…it was still good, it just means that next time, I have to add more peanut butter. GET. IN.
The recipe says to eat it straight away or put it in the freezer. If you are going to do the latter, take it out a good ten minutes before you plan on eating it as it does freeze pretty hard.
Happy ice cream making!
Now then…who is up for some Brown Bread and Irish Whiskey Ice Cream? I thought you would be, Linder ;)
looks amazing! <3 please visit my blog :) :) http://enjoybypaula.wordpress.com <3 <3 <3
I will! X
I was conned too. I tried the banana ice cream a couple of weeks ago and it did not blend. I read yesterday to add almond milk or coconut milk if it happens. This week however, I did have success with making the best (unhealthy) ice cream ever though!
Most imprtantly, what flavour was it?!
OH.MY.DAYS that looks so good! Off to look at the recipe :)
Do it, do it, do it. I’m still thinking about the brown bread and whiskey one…
