I don’t know where this last week has gone. But, bloodyhell, has it been a good one! It has been one full of Jet Packs, A bunch of Grapes {curtsey’s for you all ;) }, The Welsh Football Team {sooo proud!}, Joe Ledley’s dancing on repeat, Beyonce…and then it has been finished off with some Aran Hufen Ia.
“Life should be lived one scoop at a time.” That’s the motto of the genius behind this ice cream, Karen Bisby, who makes all of her ice cream in her farmhouse {which is over 400 years old} near Bwlch y Groes.
“I only use double cream produced on Welsh dairy farms” – she’s not lying bobol bach, it’s the creamiest I’ve tried, I’m sure of it. I went for the Chocolate Orange Liquor flavour and I wasn’t disappointed at all. It is seriously creamy and tasty, so much so, it was quite the task to take some home for Paul. I’m sure I can hear him now, reading this, “You had more than half!”…oops!
What was that?! You want a close up? OK!
There are 17 different flavour to choose from. Next on my list {after more of this one} is the Creme Brulee and the Limoncello. Oh, and the Lavendar…and then the Gooseberry and Ginger {more out of curiosity!} …and then the…etc. etc. ;)
Aran Hufen Ia also have a bike that you can hire that comes with it’s own special ice creams like Raspberry and Pimms {Hello!}, Prosecco and Strawberry {Hello!}, my all time favourite Peanut Butter and more. *thinks of a reason to book this bike*
Have you been lucky enough to try Aran Hufe Ia yet?! You need to. List of Local Stockists here – You’re Welcome. You can also purchase the ice cream through Hufen Ia’s facebook page and website, for all those of you who don’t live locally. You’re also very Welcome ;)
{serious face: unfortunately, I haven’t been paid my weight in this ice cream for this post. I just love to shout about all the great things we have on offer locally. All words and thoughts are my own, including these love handles}.
